Alfred N. Rossignoli
World War II Veteran
Alfred (Al) Rossignoli, 90, of Reading, passed away peacefully on Sunday at Kindred Care and Rehabilitation Center of Wyomissing.
Al was born in Birdsboro on July 22nd, 1923, a son of the late Carmine and Marianna (Dadamio) Rossignoli.
He was the husband of Christine (Parenti) Rossignoli. They would have been married sixty-two years this Saturday.
Al was predeceased by six brothers, Harry, Rudy, William, Carmen, Louis and John, and one sister, Mary. His sister Rose is the only living member of the family.
Al is survived by two sons, Alfred R. Rossignoli and Steven A. Rossignoli, both of Reading. Steven is married to Sharon (Ostrander) Rossignoli. They have two children, Nicholas and Marie.
Al served in World War II in Belgium for the 310th Sig. Opn. Battalion 9th U.S. Army. After being discharged, he worked for over forty years for the Reading Railroad, now Conrail.
Al was a member of St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. He was an avid Reading High and Albright College sports fan. Most importantly; he was a decent, hardworking man of high integrity.
The family would like to thank all the Hospice nurses, social workers and all the healthcare workers who cared for Al during his battle with cancer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. George Chapel at Gethsemane Cemetery, with entombment to follow. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.
