Alfred D. Much, 81, of Sinking Spring, passed away peacefully at his home on August 23, 2026.
Born in Germany, he was the son of the late Herbert Much and Margarete (Böhm) Much. He was one of five sons.
Alfred was the loving husband of Susanne (Marz) Much. He was the proud father of Andréa Much and Allison Meyers, and grandfather of Sean and Aidan. He is survived by two brothers, Edmund Much, husband to Sherry Much, of Camp Hill and Edwin Much, husband of Ruth Much, White Hall, Maryland. He is predeceased by brothers Waldemar and Arnold Much.
A graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1963, Alfred continued training as a carpenter and built a career in the construction trades. He became a general contractor and owner of his own business, a profession that reflected his skill, independence, and pride in his work.
Alfred was a veteran of the United States Army and a Mason. He was also a man who took great pride in his family, his work, and the life he built for those he loved.
Funeral services will be held at on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11:00 am at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
Interment with military honors will follow at Laureldale Cemetery.
