Alfred L. Huff

Alfred L. Huff, 84, of Spring Township died January 16, 2012 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Margaret A. (Kirk) Huff whom he married July 17, 1954.

Born July 29, 1927 in Ithaca, NY, he was a son of the late Rolland M. and Esther E. (Eldredge) Huff.

Alfred was a graudate of Colgate University, Hamilton, NY where he majored in psychology with a minor in math and physics. He graduate with honors.

He was employed as Vice President with Polymer Corporation, Reading and then transferred to ACF Industries, New York, NY, where he retired as Vice President in 1984. Prior to that he was a partner with Public Accounting Firm of Lybrand, Ross Brothers & Montgomery, NY.

Alfred served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was an electronics technician.

He was on the chair of trustees at Kutztown University. He was also a member of Business Council to the United Nations.

Alfred was the director of College to College Program, bringing local college and university students into Reading to benefit the city and their educations.

He was also the past Vice President of PAL - Police Athletic League.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Duncan E. Huff of Houston, TX.

A visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading.
