Alexander H. "Alex-Red" Oshman, 87, of Green Hills Manor, died February 21, 2013 in Reading Hospital.

Born January 12, 1926, in Shenandoah, PA, he was a son of the late Alexander and Sophie (Brysacz) Oshman.

He was a graduate of Shenandoah High School.

Alex lived in the Reading area for most of his adult life, and was employed as a polisher with Berks Optical for over 20 years.

During World War II, he served his country in the U.S. Army as a truck driver in Europe, that included participation in the famous "Battle of the Bulge."

He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

Surviving are his sister, Sylvia Oshman of Trumbull, CT, two nephews - John "Peter" Kissinger in Arlington, VA and William Oshman in Franklin, VA, and one niece – Dolores Sikorski in Bridgeport, CT, along with their spouses and children.

Alex is also remembered by members of the Schultz and Hassler families, who reside in the Reading area.

Alex was predeceased by his brother Frank Oshman, and his sisters Clara Sissick and Bertha Kissinger.
