Alda Annamaria Prina left this world with the grace and peace she brought to her life, surrounded by her family, on May 6, 2026.

Born on January 17, 1941, in Biella, Italy, she arrived with her mother Dirce to Ellis Island in 1946. In her early life she learned English at Holy Rosary, helped at her family's luncheonette on 11th and Spring Streets and made lifelong friends in grade school.

Later, after graduation when she was preparing for a career as a flight attendant, her future was detoured during a local dance where she met her husband. After they married, she happily settled into 1960's suburban life, building a family and raising her daughters.

Though her primary jobs were mom, wife and friend, Alda and her husband Jack owned a popular neighborhood restaurant in Shillington where she managed the kitchen, employees and accounting. Before retiring early to enjoy family, a collection of friends and a passion for traveling, she worked in Alvernia College's business office.

With her love of music, dancing, lovely meals and gardening, Alda made houses into homes and created honored traditions. She was a devoted daughter and loving mother and grandmother. She was a dedicated worker who met every task and challenge she faced.

Alda has been returned to God, her beloved mother and daughter Roxann and will be forever loved and celebrated by her daughters Marci, Christine, and Stephanie and their children.

Private services were held at Alvernia University's Sacred Heart Chapel on Tuesday, May 12.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to berksnature.org, dedicated to conservation of the environment in Berks County, to honor her love of children, gardens and the berks county area.

Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, was entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
