Alberta E. Hiester

Alberta E. Hiester, 87, formerly of West Wyomissing, Muhlenberg Township and Wyomissing, died February 19 at 7:34 a.m. in Berks Heim where she had been for one year.

Her husband Paul Hiester died December 21, 1996.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva M. (Karpowich) Chaykowski.

She was first employed by Maier's Bakery, Reading. Later she was employed by The Abraham Lincoln Hotel, Reading, she last worked for the The Riveredge, Greenfields until her retirement in 1999.

Hiester was a graduate of Reading High School in 1936.

She is survived by two daughters, Dolores E. (Pawling) Gangemi, West Reading and Janet L. (Pawling) McLaughlin, Sinking Spring and two sons David L. Pawling, Reading and Craig E. Pawling, Wyomissing. Other survivors include 3 grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Alsace Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
