Albert W. Rosenstock

Albert W. Rosenstock, 83, of Wyomissing passed away on November 29th at ManorCare in Laureldale.

Born in Hazleton in 1923, he was the son of the late Harry and Mae (Acker) Rosenstock.

Albert was the husband of Ruth C. (Von Bergen) for 55 years.

He was a graduate of Hazleton High School in 1941. Albert also attended Penn State Center in Hazleton.

Albert worked as a music salesman for Wittick's, Hazleton, for 10 years. He later worked as an insurance investigator for Retail Credit Corporation, Reading, for 18 years. In 1968, he began working for Penn Square Mutual Fund, Reading, as an Account Executive and remained there until he retired in 1986.

He and his wife, Ruth, became volunteers in 1987 for the Reading Hospital and each Friday would push "the cart."

He became a volunteer fire fighter while he was living in Hazleton.

Albert enjoyed many summers he spent down at the Jersey seashore and was active on the financial committee at the Seashore Line Condo.

Albert enlisted in the Army in 1943. He volunteered for the first U.S. Air Force in 1944. He served as a B- 24 gunner for a year and a half. He flew 25 missions over Italy and Germany before V- E Day in April 1945.

He was elected to the Wyomissing Hills Borough Council in 1960 and served 3 terms. During his tenure, he served on a committee when sewers were installed in the borough as well as the construction of the Wyomissing Hills Playground.

Albert always felt that he learned so many useful things while in the service and a council member in the borough.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one son Todd husband of RoseAnne (Martin) Rosenstock of Newtown Square, Pa.
