Alan D. Peters

Alan David Peters, age 61 years, of Wyomissing, died peacefully while surrounded by his family in the Reading Hospital on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Born in Reading on July 11, 1963, he was the son of Bernice and Robert Peters.

He was a 1982 Wilson High School graduate and lifelong fan of Wilson sporting events.

Alan courageously overcame many overwhelming challenges in his life. At birth he was predicted to not survive six days, yet he lived for over 61 years. It was predicted that he would never walk, though he did his entire life without assistance, completed high school, earned full time employment, and purchased a brand new 2002 PT Cruiser which he meticulously maintained to this day. He proudly served as best man at his brother Todd's wedding.

Alan relished movies and amassed an impressive collection of classic films and other entertainment. His family will always remember the pleasant times viewing and enjoying those movies with him. He also was quite fond of his friends at the Wyomissing Restaurant & Bakery where he was the day's first customer for many years.

He is survived by his brother Todd R. Peters and wife Cathy of Morgantown, PA, sister Lynn R. (Peters) Bucher, wife of Michael Bucher, Reading, PA, and brother Bryan A. Peters and wife JoAnn of Fleetwood, PA. There are also five nieces and nephews who adored Uncle Alan ("Big Al"), Stefan Peters, Jimmy Bucher (known affectionately as JB by Alan), Danielle (Bucher) Frey and husband Justin, Eric Peters and wife Thu, Alicia Peters as well as two great nieces, Faith Peters and Lucy Frey.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a service to begin at 11 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Temple. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfunerahomes.com.
