Aileen Berger of Robesonia, PA, formerly of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Oct 6, 2024. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland on February 23, 1955, Aileen spent her early years in Pottsville, PA, graduating from Nativity B.V.M. High School in 1973.
Aileen was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Danielle Berger, her parents Catherine and Edwin Crighton, and brothers, Keith and Kenneth. She is survived by her sister, Donna Egan and brother-in-law, Gerard Egan. She will be deeply missed by her loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Aileen retired from Kylen Financials INC of Lititz, PA in 2021 after 14 fulfilling years. She formed deep friendships with colleagues and clients alike, particularly her employer and cherished friend Holly. She loved her work where she led the company as Practice Manager and went on to become licensed in insurance and investments. Her dedication and passion was selfless.
Earlier in her career, Aileen spent many rewarding years working for social service agencies including PECAR and Victim Assistance Center in York, PA. Her empathy, hard work and commitment to helping others made a lasting impact on her community and inspired her daughter to pursue social work.
Aileen loved the companionship of her dogs and her home was always full of life, including the many pets her daughter Danielle adored. A skilled knitter, she also enjoyed traveling with family or friends, and watching football games or cooking shows with her great-nephews. Aileen loved the beach and had a special connection to the ocean. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and relaxing days at the spa, always finding joy in life's pleasures.
Known for her sharp wit and lively sense of humor, Aileen brought a special energy to holiday gatherings, where her prank gifts became a much loved tradition that kept her family laughing.
Aileen will be deeply missed, but her loved ones find comfort knowing that she is now carried on the wings of angels, reunited with those who went before.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children's Home of York or St Jude Children's Hospital. Edward J.
