Aida I. Rosado

Aida I (Dorta) Rosado, 83, passed away September 30, 2024, in the Reading Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ernesto Fuentes Rosado, with whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage, before his passing in 2018.

Born in Hatillo, PR, she was the daughter of the late Juan Dorta Rodriguez and Juana Delgado Dorta.

She was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Reading. She was one of the participants of the Charismatic Renewal Group, a Cursillista, a member of the Sacred Heart Association, participant of El Movimiento de Juan XXIII, and a participant in the Apostolate of Divine Mercy in the church.

She was a self employed hairstylist, proprietor of Aida's Beauty Salon on Chestnut St., Reading. She was also employed as a seamstress at Astor Industries and other sewing manufacturing locations. Aida was last employed by the Reading School District as a Paraprofessional primarily at Tyson Schoener Elementary School.

Aida enjoyed spending quality time with her immediate family. She enjoyed cooking and volunteering her time providing community service.

She is survived by her daughter, Nytza I., wife of Manuel A. Santiago, Muhlenberg Twp. She is also survived by her five siblings, Hector Dorta Sr., Sylvia (Dorta)Ocasio, Reynaldo Dorta, Sonia Dorta and Alvin Dorta, two grandchildren, Alexis M. (Santiago), wife of Carlos Mendez, Adriana M. Santiago, and two great-grandchildren, Logan A. Mendez Santiago and Isaac N. Mendez Santiago.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 10:30 am in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 322 S 5th St, Reading, PA 19602, with entombment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
