Aida L. Betancourt

Aida Li Batencourt, 93, of Reading, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, in the care of Reading Hospital. Born in Hatillo, PR, to the late Confesor Betancourt and Elisa Colon, Aida spent much of her life between Reading and her hometown. For the last 15 years, she has predominately resided with her daughter in Wyomissing.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who treasured time spent with her family.

A devoted catholic, she attended mass at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church of Reading.

Aida is survived by her daughter, Carmen Fields, wife of Larry Fields, of Wyomissing; her sister, Lola Batencourt of Puerto Rico; her grandchildren: Betsida Ruiz, Louis Anavitate, Paul Anavitate, Steve Anavitate, Rosa Ruiz, and Michael Ruiz; and her great grandchildren: Anthony, Paul, Paulette, Giovanni, Xavier, and Avianna.

In addition to her parents, Aida was predeceased by the father of her children, Tomas Ruiz; her son, Tomas Ruiz Jr; her grandson, Thomas Anavitate; her great granddaughter, Kiarra Anavitate; and six siblings.

A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611, with committal to follow at Charles Evans Cemetery.
