Adeline J. "Addie" Schmehl

Adeline J. "Addie" (Scioli) Schmehl, 89, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2016 in her Wyomissing residence.

She was the wife of the late Louis H. "Herbie" Schmehl who died December 22, 2010 and with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Angeline (Pangaro) Scioli.

Addie attended Southwest Jr. High and Reading High School.

She was the owner and operator of Bridal Fashions, West Reading, for 43 years before retiring in 2010. Bridal Fashions was her life. She worked it and lived it every day, making brides, bridesmaids, mothers of the bride, and prom attendees feel beautiful for a very long time.

Addie is survived by her two sons, Federal District Judge Jeffrey L., husband of April Reed Schmehl, Reading, and Jay A. Schmehl, Reading. She is also survived by her two siblings, Alfred Scioli, Reading; Helen, wife of Harry Zillhardt, Hanover, and five grandchildren, Kristin L., Keith J., Kurt A., Jayson L., and Jonathan A.

She was predeceased by her other two siblings, Leonard Scioli and Lena (Lombardo) Lucchese, her twin sister.

A memorial service will be held on April 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
