Adam J. Butkus, 83, of Hiester Boulevard, Spring Township, died Oct. 19 at 10:15 a.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Aug. 3.
He was the husband of Helen (Baloganski) Butkus.
Born in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late Adam and Christina (Uniscadage) Butkus.
Butkus had been employed for 48 years by Atlantic Richfield, Spring Township, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.
Butkus was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
He is also survived by a son, Adam J., Pittsburgh; and two brothers, Joseph, of West Lawn, and Albert, of Sinking Spring.
There are also two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Viewing Monday Night 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
