Adalgisa L. Franchi

Adalgisa L. Franchi, 96, of Sacred Heart Villa, passed away October 9, 2013.

Her husband, Delvisio Franchi, died July 1, 1994. They wed on February 18, 1939 and celebrated 55 years of marriage before Delvisio's death.

Born December 24, 1916 in Birdsboro, she was a daughter of the late Pietro and Giovanna (Fontana) Pichini.

She worked for Berkshire Knitting Mills, Whitner's Department Store, and Pomeroys Department Store; retiring in 1984.

Adalgisa was a member of Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Reading.

She is survived by her three children: Sandra P., widow of Dr. Alexander D. Gabrielli, Wyomissing; Dennis Franchi, Ventnor, NJ; and Andrea G., wife of Dr. David M. Badway, Pittsburgh. Also surviving are her ten grandchildren: Maria Nawa, Anthony Gabrielli, Theresa Gallen, Lisa Gehrke, Zachary Gabrielli, Nicole Martin, Aaron Badway, Veronica Badway, Blaise Badway, and Gabriella Badway. Thirteen great-grandchildren also survive her.

Adalgisa was predeceased by her two brothers: Constantino "Andrew" Pichini and Quido Pichini.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Villa, 51 Seminary Ave., Reading, PA 19605. A viewing will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Villa. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Villa at the above address. Edward J.
