A. Donald Cardell

A. Donald Cardell, 69, of West Reading, passed away December 10, 2010 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Ruth V. (Lamp) Cardell. They were married on November 6, 1971.

Born in Reading, he was a son of Anthony, husband of Louise Cardell, Easton, PA and the late Virginia A. (Bedford) Reiver.

Donald was a 1959 graduate of Wilson High School where he played varsity football and wrestled. He also attended Wharton School of Business.

He was employed by Arrow International, Wyomissing, Willson Products, Reading, GAI Tronics, Mohnton, Prestolite Battery, Laureldale and as a mixer for Garden St. Tannery, Fleetwood, retiring in 2004.

Donald was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He loved golf, playing and watching sports, playing football and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by his son, Michael A., husband of Michele Schemhl-Cardell, Reading his daughter, Brandy, wife of Michael P. Wagner, Blandon and five grandchildren, Vincenzo Cardell, Christian Wagner, Rachel Wagner, Daniel Wagner and Jonah Wagner.

He was predeceased by his brother, Jackie Cardell.

Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
